The Module 3 “Product & Service Design” of the advanced course “Design for Sustainability in the manufacturing sector” (INTRIDE pilot action) was carried out by Elisava, CENFIM and Leitat during this past month of May 2022. 

The module was composed by three learning unit plus a final workshop, for a total of 5 ECTS:

+ Unit 1: Service & Product Design. Future & Sustainable trends, research & analysis by Laura Clèries, Director of Elisava Researcher and Director of the Master in Design through New Materials. 

+ Unit 2: Design & Creative Methods II by Cristina Taverner & Jordi Ros, professors of Elisava.

+ Unit 3: Technology as a strategic force for change by Marta González & Luis Eslava, professors of Elisava.

+ Workshop: Product & Service Design praxis, Applied Design & Strategies challenge by CENFIM & Leitat.

A total of 20 selected students from 4 different countries (Italy, Romania, France, and Spain) took part in this module in order to deepen in Product and Service Design. 
The main next step of this project has been the workshop to be held in Cluj Napoca in order to prepare the Final Master Thesis. From June, 20th – 24th the students redesigned an office chair for the Romanian company Antares, so they have demonstrated the knowledge and skills acquired during the pilot programme: soft, green, & digital skills. Students presented their proposals on July, 1st, a day with the participation of Elisava’s professor Jordi Ros.
